Terms & Conditions

1. Who can enter?
The Promotion is open to:
  • All residents of UK and Republic of Ireland, hereinafter the “Participating Country /Countries”
  • Those Aged 16 or older at the time of entry
  • Those who are registered users of www.pringles.com/jingles (the “Promotion Website).

Videos submitted for prior Pringles competitions will not be eligible to win. Please do not submit.
No purchase is necessary for the participation to the Promotion

2. Who can NOT enter?

Employees (and their families) of Procter & Gamble (“P&G”) as well as representatives or agents of P&G and anyone else who may be professionally involved in the Promotion are not eligible to participate in the Promotion.

3. Promotion Period

The Promotion will take place between 7th October 2008 and 4th January 2009 (the “Promotion Period).

4. Prizes

(i) £2,000/€2,500 Weekly Prize:The competition to win a £2,000/€2,500 prize will run until 4th January 2009. There will be a total of 12 weekly prize draws held from 19/10/08 to 4/01/09 and will go to the best video of the week. The first weekly draw will be for all videos submitted between October 1st and October 19th. All videos upload from Monday to Sunday will enter the following Monday prize draw. All videos that do not win the weekly competition will automatically enter the next week prize draw. The £2,000/€2,500 will come in the form of a cheque.

Winners will be notified within 14 days of winning. Please allow 90 days for prize delivery.

The weekly winner will be selected by an independent judging panel.

(ii) Grand Prize (TV AD): To be eligible to win the Jingles for Pringles TV ad competition you must submit your video by 23.59hrs on 7th December 08. The winning entry will appear as an advert on National TV on December 25th 2008.

This will be judged by an independent judging panel.

The winner will be notified NO LATER than December 10th 2008 and MUST be available during that week to re-shoot the video if necessary. If the winner is not available, the runner up will be contacted.

5. How will the prizes be granted?

Notification: the winners will be notified via telephone and/or e-mail within 14 days after selection. Please allow 90 days for dispatch of the weekly prizes.

Each of the following rules shall apply:

1. The Promoter's decision about Prizes is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
2. All prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be substituted for the prizes on offer.
3. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute items/activities of a greater or equivalent value should unforeseen circumstances require it.
4. If any winner is not able for whatever reason to accept the prize(s), or if the Promoter is unable to contact the winner using reasonable effort, then the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize(s) to another participant.
5. All prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of the manufacturer or supplier.
6. Only one prize per household.

6. Judging Criteria
The weekly winner and the grand prize winner will be chosen by an independent judging panel

The criteria used by the judging panel for selection of the winners will be:
  • A link to the Promotion theme – Jingles for Pringles
  • Inventiveness and originality
  • Fun
  • Pringles equity
  • Top public voted videos.

Visitors of the website of the Promotion Website will be offered to vote for approved videos uploaded on the site. Visitors can vote as many times as they want with a limit of one vote per day. Promoter reserves the right to remove any automatically generated vote.

7. How to participate
Videos submitted to last years Jingles for Pringles competition will not be eligible to win, please do not re-submit.

1. Entrants have first to register on the Promotion Website. Each entry should include at least name, date of birth, e-mail, post code and phone number. Entrants may also have the option to enter a personal URL address. Would any entrant specify a personal URL address, such entrant understand and accepts that his / her personal page may be visited by any visitor of the Promotion Website and that he / she may be contacted by any of those visitors, following the voluntarily disclosure of his / her personal data he / she would have made.

2. Entrants will be offered to upload a mini video performance (2 minutes or less) singing a Christmas song that include Pringles. There is no limit to the # of people that may appear in your video but persons under the age of 16 may not appear and are not eligible.

3. Please also read the following technical uploading conditions:

  • Your jingle should be up to 2 minutes long and be 50 Mb or smaller.
  • We accept many popular formats, such as AVI, ASF, QuickTime, Windows Media and MPEG formats. For example, .avi, .asf, .mov, .wmv, .mpg, .mpeg, .mp4, .ra, .ram, and .mod are all acceptable file extensions. Please note that we currently do not accept Flash files. Specific video codes we accept include: H.264, H.263, MPEG 1/2/4 and motion JPEG. All videos are loaded on YouTube and then removed from YouTube once the Promotion has ended.
  • Your video can take several days to qualify into the gallery.

4. The following uploading rules applying to each upload:

  • It is not allowed to create more than one registration per person. Multiple registrations coming from the same participant will be cancelled and such participant will automatically be disqualified ;
  • Each video submitted on the Promotion website should be related exclusively to the theme of the Promotion ;
  • Neither the Promoter nor its agents will be responsible for any entries not received. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt;
  • Any video that would include persons under the age of 16 will be disqualified ;
  • All videos will need to be approved by the Promoter and / or its agents before they are featured on the Promotion Website. Please note that videos will be assessed following guidelines to ensure adherence to Promoter values, and full compliance with those Terms & Conditions and with any applicable rules including, but not limited to, privacy. Any decision of Promoter and / or its agents to reject submitted entries is final and will be made at their sole discretion ;
  • Your entry must be your own original work, your creation and cannot incorporate or include anything that is; i) owned by any third party or entity or would require the consent of any third party or entity or ii) violates any law, copyright, trademark, publicity right, privacy right or any other right of any third party. All entries cannot contain any copyrighted materials, including but not limited to images and music. Any images or statements cannot have been previously published;
  • Submissions must not contain, as determined by Promoter, in its sole discretion: i/ defamatory statements, ii/ threats to any person, place, business, or group, iii/ any dangerous behaviour, iv/ any unacceptable clothing or adornments, v/ any commercial/corporate advertising, or vi/ any indecent behaviour, profanities or obscenities;
  • Submissions must not: i/ disparage persons or organizations as, ii/ invade privacy or other rights of any person, entity, or iii/ in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations. Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry that, in its sole opinion, refers, depicts or in any way reflects negatively upon the Promoter, the Promotion or any other person or entity, or does not comply with these requirements or these Terms & Conditions.
  • Promoter reserves the right to remove any inappropriate material at any time.
  • Promoter will not be held liable for any things or people occurred during or for the production of the videos.
  • If the submission contains any person(s) other than the entrant, by entering this contest, entrant confirms having received permission from other person(s) featured in for Promoter to use their image for publicity including posting on website(s). All entries become the sole property of Promoter and none will be returned.
  • Entrants give permission, to Procter & Gamble, irrevocable and in perpetuity, to reproduce, copy, publish, broadcast, or otherwise use their video submission, name, statements, or any material based upon or derived from them, in any media whatsoever throughout the world, including, without limitation, for any and all advertising, promotion and other purposes of trade.
  • Entrants voluntarily and knowingly, release, discharge and relinquish any and all claims, actions and lawsuits of any kind against Promoter, P&G or its agents related to or arising from their participation in the Promotion including, without limitation, any claims, actions or lawsuits for negligence and/or other fault, personal injury, defamation, violation of right of publicity, invasion of privacy, and infringement of copyright.

  • NOTICE TO ONLINE ENTRANTS: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION IS A VIOLATION OF LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

By entering the Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Promoter reserve the right to modify the content of these Terms & Conditions with retroactive effect should modification be required to ensure the good execution of the Promotion.
